Upthermo Sp. z o. o. is implementing a project entitled: "Upthermo - a heat engine enabling pumping of liquids by using energy from a low-temperature heat source (from 40°C to 100°C)" under the Eastern Poland Operational Program 2014-2020, priority axis I: Entrepreneurial Eastern Poland, measure 1.1 Startup platforms for new ideas, sub-measure 1.1.2 Development of startups in Eastern Poland.
The project aims to launch an innovative product called Upthermo, which will enable the pumping of usable liquids by converting low-temperature thermal energy into mechanical work.
The project will result in an innovative pumping device powered by low-temperature thermal energy, which will find many applications in the economy. Previous technical solutions are mostly based on electric pumps. There are no such technologies known on the market that would be able to use low-quality energy (thermal energy in the temperature range of 40-100°C) in an efficient and effective way and convert it into mechanical energy to a useful form. As a result of the project, the Applicant will introduce a product to its offer in the form of a new type of heat engine, thanks to which it will increase its revenues and significantly increase the competitiveness of its company. In addition, the level of innovativeness of the Applicant will increase, and he will gain the necessary knowledge to further improve the product. Thanks to the project, the company will also be able to offer a product in the form of ready-made pumps, which will be used, among other things, for irrigation of agricultural areas in regions characterized by very good insolation and difficulty in access to water (Africa, India).
